Rebecca Mayhew
Becky Mayhew is a resident of Bridgeville, Pennsylvania and has lived in the South Hills of Pittsburgh for many years. She graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh with a degree in Visual Communications/Illustration. Her mediums of choice are watercolors and oils; she also works in calligraphy and pen & ink.
Her main source of inspiration is the beauty of flowers, the gardens that showcase them, and the landscapes “that make you wish you could stay and soak in the beauty forever.” One of the most rewarding things to her is providing a source of joy and inspiration through her art to those who appreciate the beauty of the world around them.
She teaches drawing and painting classes at Arc of Washington County on a weekly basis as well as at her studio/classroom, “The Art Shoppe,” located in Scott Twp., Pittsburgh, PA. Her goal is passing on the joy of making art to all who attend her classes.
Becky has participated in various art shows and artist’s markets around Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. A member the Pittsburgh Watercolor Society, she has had her work accepted into the PWS WaterWorks show at the Latrobe Center for the Arts and the Aqueous Open International Exhibit at the Stifel Fine Arts Center in Wheeling, WV. Her work has been commissioned for businesses, churches, and private homes.
