Student Transition Program
Preparing Students for Independence
Arc Human Services' Student Transition Program supports young adults aged 16–21 with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as they prepare for life beyond school.
Located in Canonsburg, PA, the program offers individualized support in a low-ratio setting, focusing on daily living skills, employment readiness, and self-advocacy. Through classroom instruction, community volunteering, and real-world experiences, students gain the confidence and capabilities needed for greater independence and meaningful community involvement.
What We Do
Student Transition Program is designed for young adults 16-21 diagnosed with intellectual and developmental Disabilities (IDD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
We are a low-ratio service focused on individualized support for each student. This program provides a transition experience in Canonsburg, PA. Students will work toward community/competitive employment and independence. They can also learn living skills and participate in a classroom setting at Arc Human Services.
Classroom Curriculum
We recognize that our students need additional support and modifications in their environment and their activities.
We optimize our space in both the classroom and Chicco Baccello to help our students get into a routine and understand that when they are learning, they have the space and support to concentrate on the activity or task we’re focused on.

Community Volunteering for young people with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism is vital to promoting inclusivity, personal growth, and social interaction.
